As a dairy farmer water is very important in our operation. In this area is the water quality not so good. The soap supplies told us we have to use extra soap to clean the milking equipment. We know the water has a higher calcium so we use a water softener and for we also understand the water has some iron, sulphur (rotting egg smell). To solve those problems this farm has used 35% peroxide in the water well. But still the cows don't perform very well. So we continue to find something better. In December 2011 we met Neil Faddis and he show us information about Hydroxy! II. A new oxidative water treatment. First | feel we have that already but he convinced me this is
something new and we can offer you a free water test. Nothing wrong with a free water test. The test result was our water has too much hardness, too much sulphur, iron and manganese. Higher manganese makes cows drink 25% less water. We did some testing with new Hydroxyl || and the water tasted a lot better. In January 2012 we install the Hydroxyl Il for the milking herd. Later in April we install a filter system for
the milking herd and Hydroxyl Il for the young stock. Cows need a lot of water to produce milk. Step by step we see improvements. The water taste better. The water bowls stay cleaner and the cows drink a lot more. We saw that after installing a water meter. The best of all the cows are healthier. After calving they start better with milking and stead of 3 to 4 breedings they get pregnant after 1 or 2 breedings. In our DHI herd annual reports we see some good numbers. Annual milk production increased by 230 litre/cow. Breedings/cow/year went down 0.8. The cows getting a little older. We have 7% more cows in the 3+ lactation. Conception rate is up by 9%. Pregnant rate by 150 days in the milk is up 1st service conception is up by 9%. We are very happy to continue use Hydroxyl Il from H2O2 Water.
